Start by laminating ash strips to build up the lip.

Each half was made separately and then assembled togther.

The coaming lip was built up from laminations of ash. Each half was built up separately using titebond, glued together, and attached to the coaming riser with thickened epoxy. After the epoxy was set up, the excess riser was cut off and sanded. Then the coaming lip and riser were strengthened with fiberglass and epoxy resin.
